doppler 7hd, we are seeing the first signs of the storm across the northern california coastline. as you can see on live doppler 7hd, it is going to get in here in the morning, and as we show you our area right now, the moisture is just to the west. it is the leading edge of the storm we are watching. computer animation shows that the rain begins at 2:00 a.m. and the winds are kicking up over the higher elevations. 30 to 35 miles per hour, but the strongest wind and the heaviest rain during the 5:00 a.m. hour really continues. 8:00 a.m. it is still going pretty stormy and could see some thunder right on through 10:00, 11:00 in the morning behind the front. it will turn showery at 1:00 p.m. ahead of the storm though we are expecting strong winds. a high wind warning has been issued from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. winds gusting 55 to 65 miles an hour and could see gusts up to 75. a wind advisory for the rest of the area, and we are looking at the potential for downed trees and power outages and that's not all. 24r* are two more storms -- there are two more storms on the way. i will have a loo

is here now with when the first will hit. sand jaw in. >> as we check out live doppler 7hd, we are seeing the first signs of the storm across the northern california coastline. as you can see on live doppler 7hd, it is going to get in here in the morning, and as we show you our area right now, the moisture is just to the west. it is the leading edge of the storm we are watching. computer animationhows that shot the rain begins at 2:00 a.m. and the winds are kicking up over the higher elevations. 30 to 35 miles per hour, but the strongest wind and the heaviest rain during the 5:00 a.m. hour really continues. 8:00 a.m. it is still going pretty stormy and could see some thunder right on through:0n 10:00, 11:00 in the morning behind the front. it will turn showery at 1:00 p.m. ahead of the storm though we are expecting strong winds. a high wind warning has been issued from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. winds gusting 55 to 65 miles an hour and could see gusts up to 75. a wind advisory for the rest of the area, and we are looking at the potential for downed trees and power outages and that's not all.
'm looking at the doppler, it's a little scary. >> a lot of green there. >> there is a lot of green there and more to come maybe even more scary than the rain. the wind with the system is going to be whipping around the bay area especially toward the coast likely to see some trees coming down, some power lines and some power outages. take a look for yourself. high-def doppler radar showing you all that rainfall just off the coastline as that first storm system now about to come onshore. you can see the purple at the coast is actually the high wind warnings at the coast stretching from san francisco up through the marin headlands toward point reyes and toward the santa cruz area but still the heavier amounts of rainfall are just off the coast. that will be pushing onshore just in time for the morning commute. so here we go, folks. it is going to be a wet one and a windy one as we head throughout the morning hours. we're not done just yet. we have this system moving onshore. behind that you can see the back side right here. we are seeing enhancement. wouldn't be surprised to see some
is back in the bay area. hi-def doppler showing wind and rain redding in from the north. this storm is going to be worse than yesterday. we have our team on top of everything in the feel and lawrence is in the weather center. >> we are not seeing much yet just scattered showers. i think it will be until the evening before we see that rain picking outside. hi-def doppler showing you we do have a couple of scattered showers right now. but most of those have been located in the north bay and so far, it has been widely scattered and fairly light. the storm will be hung up especially in the north bay. we could see potentially flooding. flash floodwaters and fast rising waters and we expect major rivers to stay within their banks but likely to see flooding on the creeks and streams. this storm system pretty impressive just putting itself together. it is a stronger storm than the last one moving onshore and there's another one after that. even after this storm moves by, we'll talk more about that. >>> thank you. yesterday's wind and rain knocked out power for thousands. the major culprit f
of it is intensifying as it moves onshore again check our high- def doppler radar. look at the yellows in the system. we have some very strong gusty winds. we just had a gust at the golden gate of 52 miles an hour. that will likely bring down some trees and, boy, cause some power lines to come down as well. this band is making its way through the bay area now. earlier we had another band that moved through starting to push south now through san jose so you're seeing a lot of showers in the area, pockets of some moderate amounts of rainfall and a lot of strong gusty winds to go along with that. embedded in the system are cells that are producing moderate amounts of rainfall even some heavy rainfall as you move through. some reports now already over 6, 7" of rainfall in some parts of the north bay and still more to come. you can see this band that's making its way through the bay area now and some heavier cells as we take you in for a closer look. toward mill valley heavy rainfall in the area along 101 if you are traveling along here expect heavy rainfall and the possibility of some flooding now. a lot of
